Typography employs a dual-system approach: Playfair Display for headings establishes a sense of heritage and intellectual weight, while Inter provides the clarity and neutrality required for extended reading. This combination creates a deliberate tension — authoritative and approachable — that mirrors the resource's aim of making rigorous science legible to a general but engaged readership.

Spatial rhythm across the site is generous and deliberate. Sections are separated by substantial vertical space, allowing content to "breathe" rather than competing for visual attention. Photographic elements are treated as compositional partners to text rather than decorative fillers, selected for cinematic quality and placed to anchor entire content zones. The result is a visual experience closer to a curated institutional publication than a website in the conventional commercial sense.
